The baiji, or Yangtze River dolphin, is a cetacean whose home is the Yangtze River in China. The last sighting of the baiji species was in 2002 and it is listed as critically endangered and possibly extinct.

Western Gorilla The Western Gorilla has suffered a population decline of 60% from the 1980's due to outbreaks of Ebola and hunting. The Western Gorilla's conservation status was uplisted from Endangered to Critically Endangered in 2007.
